The Shortest History of China: Linda Jaivin at UTS (Online)
Chinese politics, language and culture expert Linda Jaivin’s new book The Shortest History of China distils a vast history into a short, readable account that tells you what you need to know about China, from its philosophical origins to its political system, to the COVID-19 pandemic and where China is likely to lead the world.
Linda Jaivin will join Louise Edwards, Adjunct Professor, Australia-China Relations Institute, University of Technology Sydney and Scientia Professor of Chinese History, University of New South Wales, in conversation in an online webinar launching her book to discuss China’s past, its outlook on the world and its ambitions, and what it all means for Australia. The discussion will be followed by audience Q&A.
Date: Wednesday 12 May
